			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The hamlet of Minaki is located about 45 minutes north of Kenora and Lake of the Woods, via Highway 596 off the Kenora Bypass (Highway 17A).  Area lakes and rivers include the Winnipeg and English River systems, Gunn Lake, Pistol Lake, Sand Lake and Roughrock.   Fish species in these waterways include walleye (pickerel), northern pike (jackfish), bass, yellow perch and muskie.  Minaki also has wonderful cross country skiing, mountain bike trails and rock climbing.</p>

It is approximately 15 miles long and one mile wide at its widest point, with an average depth of 22 feet and up to 70 feet deep in some places.   Lake of the Woods is accessible by boat from Longbow Lake by means of a beltway over a water level control dam.  Fish species in Longbow Lake comprise of walleye (pickerel), northern pike (jackfish), muskie, smallmouth bass, rock bass, yellow perch, white sucker, lake herring and burbot.</p>

The Winnipeg River is accessible by boat from Lower Black Sturgeon via the Black Sturgeon River and a manual roller system.  Lower Black Sturgeon is approximately 8 miles long and 1.5 miles at its widest point.  Average water depth is 40 feet, with the deepest area being approximately 100 feet.   Fish species in Black Sturgeon Lake are walleye (pickerel), northern pike (jackfish), smallmouth bass, rock bass, yellow perch and whitefish.</p>
